| Description |
The IMMUNITY campaign was developed by the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) to increase awareness around the importance of adults receiving vaccinations for commonly preventable diseases such as Influenza. The SFDPH states that over 50,000 deaths occur each year in the US due to diseases that can be prevented with vaccines. While Influenza is responsible for the largest number of deaths, measles, meningitis, and pertussis are also concerns. Traditionally, the focus on vaccines is placed on children, but the SFDPH also sites adults spreading disease to other unvaccinated adults or children as a big impetus for the campaign. |

| Results / Accomplishments |
The campaign was launched in September 2010 and has not yet been evaluated. The campaign has produced a website with information about disease statistics, recommended vaccines for adults, and a list of vaccination locations. Other campaign materials include brochures, flyers, and promotional materials in five different languages, and advertising on the internet, billboards, public transit, and newspapers in the San Francisco area. |
