Ranking Effective Practice
Description The Continuum of Program-Enriched Services of the Northeast Denver Housing Center (NDHC) carries the slogan, "from homeless to homeownership." The program offers a range of programs--from HUD-certified comprehensive housing counseling programs, to transitional housing for special needs populations (including homeless, parenting teens, HIV/AIDS, mentally and physically challenged), to affordable rentals and homeownership opportunities. NDHC provides affordable housing with the help of government funding and private donations. The housing program also may include components of child care, eduation, skill training, transportation, job placement and retention.
Goal / Mission The goal of this program is to promote economic survival and stability for vulnerable populations.
Results / Accomplishments Program accomplishments include the following:

-Served over 4,000 since its founding
-Last year counseled 455 people on housing
-Housing for 60 homeless people
-Housing for 14 parenting teens
-Housing for 5 people with HIV/AIDS
-Provided 83 rental units
-Helped 18 with special needs purchase homes
