The first center opened in lower Manhattan in April 2001, and the second in Brooklyn in January 2002. Like their non-specialized counterparts, the specialized Job Centers process TANF, Food Stamp and Medicaid applications, as well as provide ongoing case management and services to clients. |
| Goal / Mission |
The goal of this program is to provide assistance to clients whose primary language is not English. |
| Results / Accomplishments |
Approximately 90 percent of the cases handled by these centers are limited English proficient. Together, the two centers serve about 6,000-6,500 cases. |
